How to Make Cinnamon and Nutmeg Apple Crisp

  1. Prepare the apples: Thoroughly wash the apples then core and thinly slice. About 3 large Granny Smith will fit in a 9inch round dish (2 inch depth). Once the apples are thinly sliced, toss the apples with the ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg and dark brown sugar.
  2. Prepare the apple crisp topping: In a separate bowl combine all ingredients – flour, oatmeal, dark brown sugar, both spices and melted butter. The topping will be crumbly.
  3. Put the apple crisp together: Pour the prepared apples in the 9inch round dish and sprinkle the apple crisp topping on top to cover.
  4. Bake: Bake in a 350F oven for 50-60 minutes until the apples are soft.
  5. Serve: Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This apple crisp recipe is so simple and I love it! I added a little clove to the topping to pair well with the nutmeg and clove. My kids loved this recipe and it’s so much easier than making a pie.
